Are you aware that you are more likely to perform life-saving first aid on a family member than a stranger? Prepare yourself for the unexpected by becoming certified in one of our safety education classes taught by certified American Red Cross Instructors.

Wellness @ ASU prides itself in providing certification opportunities with the American Red Cross.

Completion of these certifications can bring students and staff professional opportunities, develop leadership skills, and the confidence to act as a leader in an emergency situation. 

 

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider with first aid

This American Red Cross course provides certification in 

  • Standard First Aid
  • Responding to breathing emergencies
  • Use of a bag-valve mask resuscitator (BVM)
  • Adult, Infant, and Child CPR
  • Two- Person CPR
  • Automated External Defibrillation(AED)

The course combines discussions and videos with hands-on skills training to that allows participants to actively learn and practice skills.  This course is based on real-life rescue scenarios and lessons that reinforce decision-making skills to help first responders be confident in acting in the event of an emergency. This certification is valid for 2 years.

Cost:

  • Students: $65
  • Non-student Members: $75
  • Non-members: $85

CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer/Healthcare Provider with first aid Review

Is your CPR certification about to expire? If you need to update your certification, this course is for you. This course provides recertification in CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid by the American Red Cross. In order to be eligible to take this course you must present your current certification at the beginning of the class. Certifications that have expired within 30 days from the last day of the course are still valid for recertification. 

This course offers recertification in American Red Cross

  • Standard First Aid
  • Responding to breathing emergencies
  • Adult, Infant, and Child CPR
  • Two- Person CPR
  • Automated External Defibrillation(AED)
  • Two year certification

Adult CPR/AED and First Aid (Lay Responder)

Adult CPR/AED and First Aid will teach you how to recognize and respond to adult victims in various emergency situations. This certification is valid for two years. 

This American Red Cross course offers certification in:

  • Standard First Aid
  • Adult CPR/ Automated External Defibrillator(AED)
  • Recognizing and caring for breathing emergencies.
  • Please note: this class does not include infant or child CPR

Cost:

  • ASU students, faculty and staff: $30

This program is only offered for current ASU students, faculty and staff.

Wilderness First Aid

This course teaches First Aid principles and skills so individuals can respond to emergencies and give care in areas that do not have immediate medical care. These areas include the wilderness and remote environments.

Current Adult CPR/AED or higher certification and basic swim skills are required prerequisites for this course.
