Team Handball

Team Handball is an Olympic sport that could be described as light contact indoor soccer, except you can use your hands. Team Handball is a fast-paced team sport in which two teams of seven players each (six outfield players and a goalkeeper) pass a ball using their hands with the aim of throwing it into the goal of the other team. A regular game consists of two 30-minute periods, and the team that scores more goals wins.

Commonly regarded as one of the most popular sports in the world, Team Handball is played by men and women of all ages throughout Europe, Africa, much of Asia and Brazil. The Phoenix team that is organizing ASU Team Handball participates in regional tournaments on the west coast throughout the year and the College National Championship tournament in mid-May. We will be building a team to participate in this tournament.
