Sun Devil Kids' Camp - Polytechnic

Summer 2018

General Information

  • Sun Devil Kids' Camp is a fun-filled, action-packed sports and activity summer camp for children.
  • Sun Devil Kids' Camp is located at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex on the Polytechnic campus.
  • Campers will participate in a variety of sports-related games focusing on physical fitness and motor skills development.
  • Campers must be ages 5 to 12.
  • Parents or guardians need to provide a lunch for their children.
  • A mid-morning and afternoon snack will be provided (please ensure all allergy/special diet information is accurate; we will work with these campers but some may need to provide their own snack).
  • Campers are divided into groups according to age and participate in age-appropriate activities.
  • Enrollment is limited to 80 children. Each session is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a spot, please pay the deposit or full payment for each session (it is recommended this is done in advance, some sessions will fill up prior to their start date).
  • Sessions 1 (Wed - Fri) and Session 11 (Mon - Wed) will only be 3 days each to coincide with some Chandler school districts.
  • Sessions 2 and 7 are shortened due to the Memorial Day and Independence Day holidays.  There will be no camp on Monday, May 28, 2018 or on Wednesday, July 4, 2018.
  • A weekly information newsletter (Camp Times) will be available for parents and campers. The newsletter will cover dress-up days, Friday Fun-Days, and other information.
  • A Parent Guide will be emailed to each registered family. This guide will help answer questions you might have about parking, what to bring to camp, policies, and important phone numbers, etc.
  • No multiple-child discounts available.

The last day of kids camp is August 1, 2018.

Camp Hours

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Camper Drop Off and Pick Up

  • Full Day: Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. each day.
  • Half Day Mornings: Campers can be dropped off as early as 7:30 a.m. and must be picked up by 1:00 p.m. each day.
  • Half Day Afternoons: Campers can be dropped off as early as 12:00 p.m. and must be picked up by 5:30 p.m. each day.
  • Campers must be picked up and signed out by a parent or authorized person with a photo ID.
  • All parents/guardians who do not pick up their camper by 1:00 p.m. or 5:30 p.m. (respectively) will be charged $2 per child, per minute they are late.

Absences

  • Refunds are not available for vacations, special events, short-term illnesses of four days or fewer or other personal commitments that prevent attendance.
  • A refund may be available for an extended illness of five or more consecutive program days. A doctor's note and written note from the parent or guardian explaining the situation must be received within eight working days from the first day of absence. Upon review, participants may receive a prorated refund for the unused days.

Refunds

  • All refund requests must be received by 8:30 a.m. on the third date of the camp session.
  • If absent for medical reasons, and with approval by the Kids' Camp coordinator, participants may receive a 75 percent refund of the unused days for the camp session. Please be aware that this excludes the $35 deposit and $10 program fee.
  • If Sun Devil Kids' Camp cancels a session, a full refund or transfer will be issued.
  • All refunds will be mailed by check within seven to ten business days after approval by Sun Devil Kids' Camp. Refunds will be made only to the original payee or credit card holder.

Camper Dismissal

There are times when the camp must dismiss a child due to psychological or emotional problems that preclude the child from participating safely or effectively in a group. Dismissal will take effect only after consultation among the parents, camper and camp director. Dismissal for the aforementioned reasons will result in a complete refund for the unused days.

On occasion, dismissal may be necessary for disciplinary reasons. This action will take effect only after consultation among the parents, camper and the camp director. If a camper is dismissed for disciplinary reasons, there will be NO REFUND for the unused days.

  • All student employees go through an exhaustive interview process and extensive training, which entails safety responsibilities, human relations and interpersonal skills with children.
