Sun Devil Kids' Camp - West

Summer 2018

General Information

  • Sun Devil Kids' Camp is a fun-filled, action-packed sports and activity summer camp for children.  Kids will participate in a variety of sports-related games focusing on physical fitness and motor skills development.
  • Sun Devil Kids' Camp is located at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex-West Campus in Glendale.
  • Kids will participate in a variety of sports-related games focusing on physical fitness and motor skills development.
  • Campers must be ages 5 (and having completed kindergarten) to 11.
  • Parents or guardians need to provide a lunch for their children.
  • A mid-morning and afternoon snack will be provided (children with special diets need to provide their own snack).
  • Campers are divided into groups according to age and participate in age-appropriate activities.
  • Campers need to bring appropriate attire for swimming and sporting activities, including sunscreen, towel, socks and athletic shoes.
  • Enrollment is limited to 60 children. Each session is filled on a first-come, first-served basis. To reserve a spot, please pay the deposit or full payment for each session.
  • Sessions 1 and 11 are shortened due to school being in session.  Session 2 is shortened due to Memorial Day and Session 7 due to Independence Day. There will be no camp on Monday, May 28th or on Wednesday, July 4th. A discounted rate is offered for these sessions.
  • No multiple-child discounts available.

Registration

  • Registration starts for RETURNING FAMILIES, Tuesday, April 3, 2018 at 7 a.m. Registration for ALL FAMILIES begins Wednesday, April 4, 2018 at 7 a.m. Registration will continue until a session starts
  • Register at the Sun Devil Fitness Complex admin desk.
  • After April 4th, Admin desk hours: Monday – Thursday, 6 a.m. - 11 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. - 9 p.m. Summer hours TBA
  • All registration materials must be complete before a camper can be registered for any session. No birth certificate needed. If a session is filled, your child may be placed on a waiting list, but must have a completed registration form on file. No deposit is necessary to be placed on the waiting list.

Camp Fees

To reserve a spot, a deposit of $35 per child is required, per camper, for each season. The deposit will be deducted from the balance for each session. Parents/guardians can pay the remaining balance on Friday or Monday prior to the start of each upcoming session. For session 2, payment is not due until Tuesday, May 29th. Please note that a $10 late fee will be assessed if payment is not made the first Monday of the session by 9 a.m. Deposits are non-refundable and non-transferable. At the time of registration, parents/guardians may also choose to pay the full amount of each session or pay by blocks.

ASU faculty and staff members may join the Sun Devil Fitness Complex for $100. Faculty/staff memberships must have an active summer membership to get the membership pricing. ASU payroll deduction may be used for Sun Devil Fitness Complex memberships only. Non-faculty/staff memberships may be established by joining the ASU Alumni Association for $50, plus Sun Devil Fitness Complex alumni membership fee. You need not be an ASU alum to join. Registration Fee

All families will be charged a one-time-only $10 fee per child or $15 per family at the time of registration.

No refunds on registration fees.

Quest Programs

The Quest Programs offer supplementary adventures kids can enjoy, in addition to the activities provided through Sun Devil Kids' Camp. Quest Programs activities are designed to add extra excitement to your child's week at camp. Here are the details:

  • Campers can choose from a few off - campus outings.
  • Transportation to and from event provided.
  • Sign up for Quest Programs at registration.
  • Spots are filled on a first-come, first-served basis by families enrolled in the Sun Devil Kids' Camp program. Space is limited and fills up fast!
  • No refunds or transfers

Camp Hours

Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Camp programming hours are from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.

Camper Drop Off

7:30 a.m. - 9 a.m.

  • South parking lot behind the Sun Devil Fitness Complex West, located just off Wood Drive.
  • Parents/guardians must sign in each child they drop off.

 Camper Pick Up

4 - 5:30 p.m.

  • Campers must be picked up and signed out by a parent or authorized person by 5:30 p.m.
  • All parents/guardians who do not pick up their child(ren) by 5:30 p.m. will be charged $2 per child, per minute they are late.
  • Authorized persons must show a photo ID upon picking up their child(ren).

Camp Staff

  • Students attending Arizona State University.
  • CPR/First Aid/AED certified.
  • Background checks.
  • Fingerprinted.
  • All student employees go through an extensive interview process and extensive training, which entails safety responsibilities, human relations and interpersonal skills with children.
