Safety Education

Safety Education

Would you know how to react in an emergency? Are you aware that you are more likely to perform life-saving first aid on a family member more than to a stranger? Prepare yourself for the unexpected by taking our safety classes. All classes are American Red Cross courses and are offered at various times during the year.

The SDFWC is committed to providing advanced educational opportunities to the ASU community by offering nationally recognized certifications in CPR, First Aid and AED training. Participation in our certification classes can provide great professional development opportunities, encourage critical thinking, and instill the confidence to respond when emergencies happen.

The SDFWC is now offering American Red Cross CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and Adult and Pediatric First Aid/CPR/AED courses to ASU affiliated students, staff, and faculty. In order to provide a safe class experience we are following all ASU and American Red Cross guidelines for lowering the risk of disease transmission during our classes.

Blended Learning

All classes are now offered in a Blended Learning format. In order to receive certification, class participants are required to complete online pre-class work through the American Red Cross and attend all in-person sessions.

Online content will be emailed to registered participants in the week leading up to the start date of the in-person sessions. If you have any questions about the content please contact Justin Kern at  jkern@asu.edu  or 480-965-8924.
