Group Wellness
The Group Wellness program offers a variety of exercise and creative wellness classes to meet your needs at all four locations. Instructors have certifications and training to teach safe and motivating classes that inspire participants to stay active and healthy. Participating in group wellness classes will provide a supportive environment with the motivation of a group setting.

Requirements
- Current and continuing ASU student
- Must complete Instructor Prep Course and obtain nationally accredited certification within first semester after hire date or currently hold nationally accredited certification and have prior teaching experience
- Currently hold or be willing to obtain CPR/AED for the Professional Rescuer and First Aid certification
Instructor Prep Course
If you are not currently certified and are looking to gain more education and experience, Sun Devil Fitness and Wellness offers an Instructor Prep Course. In this course, you will learn how to design and lead a group wellness class through a mentorship program with a current instructor. The Instructor Prep Course is offered once per semester during the fall and spring semesters. The course fee is $50, and includes the option to purchase, at a discounted rate, an AFAA certification course* to help prospective instructors fulfill the nationally accredited certification requirement for the position. The AFAA course fee includes online modules, study materials, a textbook, practice exams and the certification exam.
*Note that the AFAA certification is not the only certification that meets the nationally accredited certification requirement. Instructors are welcome to obtain any certification that meets their budgetary or functional interests, and should verify with the Fitness team that the certification of interest fulfills the job requirements.
