Adaptive Recreation

What is Adaptive Recreation?

Sun Devil Fitness & Wellness is dedicated to providing specialized fitness programs and training spaces designed for individuals with physical disabilities. Our facilities and programs support adaptive athletes in building strength, mobility, and confidence through structured training and engaging activities.

The Adaptive Training Zone (ATZ) at the Tempe Sun Devil Fitness Complex is a dedicated space equipped with adaptive workout equipment, offering a supportive environment for individuals seeking personalized fitness solutions.

Devils Adapt

Devils Adapt is a student-led training program designed to enhance the physical strength, mobility, and resilience of adaptive athletes. This structured 9-12 week program includes group training sessions three times a week, focusing on progressive fitness goals and skill development.

Beyond the gym, participants engage in team-building activities such as rock climbing, bowling, and escape rooms, fostering camaraderie and motivation. The program culminates in a celebratory graduation event and trip, recognizing the hard work and achievements of each athlete.
